About Me (It's supposed to be about ME, isn't it?)

I'm Mark Bell, and I'm a whistaholic! I created the first version of this website in 2004 on Geocities, and moved my content here, to my own domain in October 2009 when Geocities closed.

I am a forum participant in Chiff and Fipple and Praise Whistlers Abroad, and have been playing pennywhistle since 1987, when my parents-in-law returned from Ireland with a Clare D pennywhistle as a souvenir for me. I was hooked.

I now own about two dozen whistles, in keys from low D to soprano G, and have more recently branched out with a couple of Native American Flutes. I've experimented with making my own whistles enough to develop a profound respect for those who make whistles well!

I have played whistles in a church band since 1991. Someday, I hope to actually be good at it. At least I'm worth what they pay me.  :0}
